On 20.04.2023, started Foundation “Youth Center Krug – Art movement Krug”’s project, titled “Platorms for young art talents”, Contract BGCULTURE-3.001-0004-С01/20.04.2023, implemented with the financial support of the РА14 Program “Cultural entrepreneurship, startups and collaborations”, funded by the Financial Mechanism for the European Economic Area 2014-2021.
The project is aimed at increasing social cohesion in two Bulgarian regions (Kardzhali and Sofia) and improving mutual understanding between the majority and minority cultures – with a focus on the Roma – as a bilateral process.
The project aims to inscrease access to the culture of ethnic and cultural minorities (with a focus on Roma) and to strengthentheir activity through an integrated complex of innovative cultural and educational events, exhibitions, digital documentation of cultural history with a focus on Roma culture, and through realization of the travel tour.
Within the project activities, cultural initiatives of ethnic and cultural minorities (with a focus on Roma) will be promoted through:
- implementation of the project-developed Concept for sustainable discovery, development and “promotion” of young art talents from various minority and ethnic groups;
- the holding of 4 Art workshops for a total of 40 representatives of the target groups in the 2 areas with the duration of 6 months each and the attraction of new audiences.
Together with the project partner – the cultural association KUTIN KONSERT FORENING from the Kingdom of Norway – the Foundation “Youth Center Krug – Art Movement Krug” will engage the majority and minority groups in interdisciplinary cultural projects, by holding 2 one-week sessions of Summer Plein Air of Arts at the European Cultural Youth House of the Candidate Foundation in the village of Dazhdovnitsa (Kardzhali region).
The final cultural event of the project – Arts Festival – is aimed at improving the situation of the Roma population in Bulgaria as a form of development and public presentation of the technical potential in the sphere of culture, arts and entrepreneurship, and transforming their talents into a bridge to new audiences .
An additional innovative focus of the project will be the development of a digital multifunctional platform www.talantbg.eu with a mobile application and pages in social networks. The project will last until April 30, 2024 and is worth BGN 145,062.74.
