Within the Art Workshop “Visual Arts and Street Art” in the city of Kardzhali, 10 representatives of the Turkish and Roma minority in the city will be included. They will learn various techniques of pencil and watercolor drawing, graphics, illustration and advertising design, textile painting. Special emphasis will be placed on the use of art in public spaces at various civic events, with an emphasis on street art, as well as strict regulations on graffiti culture and the use of spray art in the urban exterior. Graffiti is an emblematic and integral part of urban culture, and this makes it accessible to everyone – connoisseurs and those who want to become part of the creators of this unique art.
As part of the activity of the Art Workshop “Visual Arts and Street Art” in the city of Kardzhali, various techniques for drawing with pencil and watercolor, graphics, illustration and advertising design, drawing on textiles will be learned – depending on interest, previous training and orientation of young artists aged 12 to 18. The art mentor of the workshop will be the artist Galina Dimova, long-time curator of visual projects and head of art workshops for children and youth from Kardzhali, Jebel, Ardino, etc. Special emphasis will be placed on the use of art in public spaces at various civic events, with an emphasis on street art, as well as strict regulations on graffiti culture and the use of spray art in the urban exterior. Graffiti is an emblematic and integral part of urban culture, and this makes it accessible to everyone – connoisseurs and those who want to become part of the creators of this unique art.
The program is implemented within 6 months, with the Visual Arts and Street Art group participating in a week-long program of the Summer Plein Air of the Arts in August ’23.
The trainings in the workshop are held according to a previously developed Program x 2 hours per week /predominantly on Saturdays and Sundays/ – a total of 8 hours per month or 48 hours within the 6 months.

*Drawing with non-radiative materials – wax, spray, on textiles, etc.

TOPIC 3: Illustration
*Illustration Specifics – Introduction
*The telling of stories through visual images;

TOPIC 6: Street Art – Street Art:
*Essence – how street art differs from other types of art;
*Visual culture and elements;

- Art and/or vandalism – limits;

*Rules and Regulations – When is it allowed?
*Graffiti as a way to improve the urban exterior;
EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES: Basic knowledge in the field of visual arts; building basic drawing skills with different techniques and techniques; Orientation in the cultural environment; Acquaintance with various resources; Getting a clearer idea of the work of artists and different artists; provoking interest in contemporary art.

ADDITIONAL WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES:
Drawing with the various techniques shown; An exercise in artistic drawing for the purpose of self-expression – for example, on the theme “Abstract Self-Portrait” with non-traditional materials;
Interpreting a contemporary work of art without the participants having prior knowledge of the concept – an exercise in analysis and critical thinking.
