The project
The candidate’s project is aimed at stimulating social cohesion in two areas in Bulgaria (Kardzhali and Sofia) and improving mutual understanding between the majority and minority cultures – with a focus on the Roma.
The project envisages increasing access to the culture of ethnic and cultural minorities (with a focus on Roma) and strengthening their engagement through an integrated complex of innovative cultural and educational events, exhibitions, digital documentation of cultural history with a focus on Roma culture, incl. . and through the realization of a traveling tour.
ABOUT US
“Art movement KRUG” (Youth center KRUG) is a foundation for public benefit, specialized in the field of arts – to conduct programs for art residencies of young artists, for arts in public spaces and research of multicultural memory (living and through collection and research of archival documents).
Since 2001, the foundation has been working in the Kardzhali region, where the largest part of the Turkish minority in Bulgaria lives. A CIRCLE has 2 main structures.
The first – Art Gallery “Krug” – was established in 2001 in the regional city and acts as a communication center for cultural policies and education.
